MC Southwest Roadtrip DAY 5 - Winslow, AZ and the Petrified Forest

Traveling with 3 generations of family in a 2010 Ford Flex we managed to cover a lot of ground with minimal drama. I limited our driving time to about 4 hours or less a day. Today we were heading to Gallup on the western edge of New Mexico. On a map it looked like it would be a boring drive but upon closer inspection I found plenty of Route 66 related fun.

Highway 87 is on fire.

Winslow, AZ.

The Wigwam motel in Holbrook, AZ.

If only these tepees could talk.

White walls and chrome for days.

Rocks and Dinosaurs are a common theme along this stretch.

Giant Logs of the Rainbow Forest in the Petrified Forest National Park in east AZ.

At the Love's truck stop in Gallup New Mexico enjoying some fine cuisine. No Walter White sightings.
